The Hamish Hub has been designed to help children in Tayside become aware of Tayside Mountain Rescue and the work that we do and also to encourage them to become more safety conscious when exploring outdoor environments. The site has been designed for children to use it either at home or in the classroom.

Help Hamish
Our Help Hamish section includes fun suggestions for children to get involved with fundraising activities for Tayside Mountain Rescue. It includes downloadable sponsorship forms and certificates. Tayside Mountain Rescue are a charity and we receive some government funding. All team members are volunteers and we rely heavily on fundraising and donations to operate – anything that you can help us with will be whole-heartedly appreciated.

Term Competitions – Win a trip to the TMR Base for your school!
Can your school help Hamish raise funds for Tayside Mountain Rescue? We have included lots of fun suggestions for you to get started with fun sponsorship activities. These, along with downloadable sponsorship forms and certificates can be found within the Help Hamish (hyperlinked) section of the site. Schools are also welcome to set up their own Just Giving page to keep track of sponsorship funds.
On the last week of term all you need to do is tell us how much your school has raised by filling in the form below. The school that raises the most money for TMR will win a trip to the TMR base. During these visits, school children can meet members of the TMR team (including Hamish!), look at and learn more about safety equipment, use the TMR climbing wall and interactive vehicles.
Monthly Fun Competitions
Win a visit from Hamish to your school and a Hamish sticker for all pupils!
Get involved with monthly fun with Hamish! Each month we will be running a fun competition for schools. These are very exciting activities – like designing a Hamish mask or doing a fun playground group hop! We will advertise them here and also on Hamish’s facebook page.We’ll also email head teachers with the details.
The winning school each month will be featured on our website and will win a school visit from Hamish and a Hamish sticker for all pupils at the school. The visit will involve a short presentation on mountain safety. We may even bring one of our Ford Ranger vehicles or our interactive trailer to the playground (if the head teacher allows!).
The Hamish Song & Music Video
A sing-along, dance-along video designed to get children on their feet and to feel good by singing and dancing. This can be used as a daily classroom resource for children to do at their desks or for assemblies, fun days or school events.
Hamish Game
The Hamish Game is fun and interactive and can be used by children at any time (perfect for when you need 5 minutes to yourself!) – COMING SOON
